 Whirlpool Corporation is, indeed, honored to be your partner in Habitat for Humanity® in an effort to provide decent and affordable housing to families in need throughout the world. Our participation in the More Than Houses campaign through our commitment to donate a refrigerator and a gas or electric range to all new Habitat houses in the U.S. and Canada is very rewarding. Please note the following newsworthy items that are in effect through 2005. ENERGY STAR® qualified appliances The United States Department of Energy (DOE) and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has designated Whirlpool as ENERGY STAR® Appliance Partner of the Year for five of the last six years. In support of that recognition, Whirlpool donates an 18 cubic foot ENERGY STAR® qualified refrigerator which is 10% more energy efficient than current DOE minimum efficiency standards. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) provision Whirlpool Corporation is pleased to support Americans with disabilities through our Habitat partnership. When a family has special needs, Whirlpool will apply the value of the donated refrigerator and/or range to the cost of ADA compliant products.
